Stop chasing every new shiny thing

 

Success is rarely about novelty. It’s about cadence.


What if the reason you’re not getting results isn’t because you’re doing the wrong thing but because you keep switching too soon?

In business speak, “cadence” refers to a regular, rhythmic pattern of activity. It’s a steady pace or routine you commit to in order to drive progress and maintain momentum.

It sounds boring.

But it’s the unsexy, consistent stuff that compounds over time.

45 minutes of exercise a day won’t transform your body overnight. But do it daily fo years? Research shows you’ll likely live longer.

For me, one reason I could pivot fairly smoothly from advertising and marketing into leadership development was this: for the past three years, I’ve been writing and publishing (and practicing what I preach) two social media posts a week.

Because I kept at it consistently, I built credibility.

And credibility opens doors.

Here’s a simple 3-part framework I live by to drive consistency:

1.Clarity: Know what matters. Pick a few core habits that truly align with your long-term goals. Don’t try to do everything but do the right things repeatedly.

2. Achievability: Set realistic targets (e.g. 2 posts/week, not 10). Systems beat motivation. Create rhythms that are boringly doable. The goal is sustainability.

3. Commitment: Lock it in. Show up. Do the work, even when it’s not exciting.


Success isn’t found in the next big hack.
It’s found in showing up, sticking with it, and letting the results compound.
